Every true KISS fan will have been one of the band's notorious conventions. Really, how many bands can actually claim to have multiple annual conventions around the world?! These are opportunities for lovers of the band to meet up, compare costumes, talk about their idols and, on occasion, see local tribute acts performing KISS covers of varying standards. No other band's fan gatherings are as large, fun and filled with fully-made-up devotees as a KISS convention. The biggest - and luckiest - KISS fans will have been at the most infamous conventions to date, which took place as part of the band's world tour 1995-1996. While it may not have been the classic lineup (Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer filled in), those fortunate enough to attend were treated to Q&A sessions with the band, incredibly rare signed merchandise, performances from tribute acts and, as the ultimate cherry-on-the-cake, a full greatest hits gig from their idols. If you haven't been to a KISS convention before, seek out the nearest one and get along to it. It'll be the most fun you'll have all year.
