15 Things Only Slipknot Fans Will Understand

7. It's Almost Impossible To Find A Copy Of "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat."

Slipknot's demo album, released in 1996, is the ultimate collector's item for fans of the band - despite the fact that the lineup is almost entirely different from the one that would record their debut in 1999! There is no Corey Taylor, no Jim Root, no Chris Fehn, no Sid Wilson... In fact, although photos of Craig Jones and Mick Thomson appear in the album artwork, only Clown, Paul Gray and Joey Jordison remained by the time the band signed to Roadrunner Records. Instead, Anders Colsefni (vocals and percussion), Donnie Steele (guitars) and Josh Brainard (guitars) are credited. Only 1000 copies of "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat." were ever pressed, which is an unbelievably small amount when considered alongside Slipknot's biggest selling album to date - their debut, which has shifted over 20 million copies. This means that a lot of Maggots are happy to pay huge fees to acquire MFKR on eBay - often upwards of £500. Even in today's world, in which is incredibly easy to locate the files and download them for free, original copies of the demo are desperately sought and fought after.
