15 Things Only Slipknot Fans Will Understand

8. Realising That Being Gross Isn't Such A Bad Thing

Yes, being a Slipknot fan means accepting that your favourite band is pretty disgusting most of the time. Clown used to bring a dead bird on stage and rub it all over himself - a story that gets even grosser when you realise that by the time they got rid of it the bird was effectively fully liquified. The band also rarely washes their masks (at least not on the early tours) - not a pretty thought, given that they used to throw up in them a lot! The band has also been known to throw their... ahem... "excrement" at one another onstage, and to urinate and masturbate openly. In their early interviews they talked openly about many particularly unpleasant events that occurred with groupies. There's also a hidden track on their debut album that features Chris Fehn being forced to watch scat porn while the band laughs at him throwing up. Of course, Maggots join in the fun - the band has been asked to sign items as creepy and icky as pig's hearts and human femurs in their time.
