18 Things Only Alter Bridge Fans Will Understand

7. Tremonti Taking Lead Vocals Just.Feels.Awesome

As mentioned before, it's a rarity that Mark steps up to the main microphone and takes lead on a song, yet AB III showed he definitely had the pipes (we all knew from his days in Creed that he could positively slay a backing vocal anyway), and it was only forward momentum from then-on in.

That initial burst of confidence fed into Tremonti's solo album which was easily many hard rock fan's album of the year thanks to its guitar showcase of everything The Tremonster had learned to that point, all condensed into 4-5 minute explosions of thrash-saluting euphoria, leading further into a tour with Slash and Myles and ending (so far) on the jaw-dropping Water's Rising from last year's Fortress - a track that incorporates all his older melodic sensibilities into the intro before thundering into a descending riff, a fantastic chorus and a solo that all of us are still trying to master to this day.

6. We Know The Exact Timestamps For Myles' High-Note Vocal Solos

Back when he was with The Mayfield Four? That'll be Summergirl you want, 3:55 in - 20 seconds long. AB III's Ghost of Days Gone By? 2:53 in - 16 seconds long, or the career-highlight of Breathe Again where Myles does an escalating technique that goes higher and higher for 18 seconds straight? That'll be 2:57 in, but prepare yourself to come out the other end with a massive Joker-style grin.

Speaking of which, The Mayfield Four's debut album Fallout also features the likes of Always, Inner City Blues and the phenomenal Realign which are all showcases for his vocal prowess - the latter of which has the nearest thing you'll ever get to Myles doing a scream, and with his lung capacity it's something supremely epic in itself.

And these are the tracks where his vocals take prowess over the recording - we haven't even mentioned metal-tinged stompers like Ties That Bind or Find The Real where the band is going hell for leather underneath him, as the combination of Alter's rhythm section, Tremonti's shredding and Myles' high notes combine to be...well, something truly special indeed.
