15. Partnering With Myles Kennedy Made Thousands Of Dreams Come True
Playing underneath Aerosmith at this year's Download Festival, Alter Bridge remain one of the fastest-rising hard rock bands going, and if you've visited the site before you'll know that we're quite big fans of their work. Born from the ashes of Creed, AB's fanbase have come a long way alongside the band, recognising and championing vocalist Myles Kennedy as the finest on the planet. All Alter Bridge fans have known of Kennedy's vocal prowess for years, so when Slash decided to take him under his wing - giving him two guest spots on his solo work and the offer of a full album together - it made the rest of our collective jaws hit the floor, only for those in the know to utter a smug face as if to say "What took you so long?"
14. Hes Literally The Coolest Man On The Planet
Seriously, how many guys could you say "Well, they wear a hat and some glasses", and they'd be fully recognisable? Although the definition of 'cool' waxes and wanes over time with each generation, can you honestly take one look at the steampunk-gunslinger aesthetic Slash has pioneered from day one, and say it doesn't work just as well today? The dude has even been in Guitar Hero, thereby transferring his appeal over to the upcoming generations with ease. From the multiple chains that adorn his neck and the copious amounts of bling that rattle around his wrists as he plays, the image of Slash alone is iconic enough to be recognised in silhouette just as much as in person - it's part of the reason so many of us have tattoos of him all over.
