20 Most Annoying Songs Of The New Millennium

1. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWNaR-rxAic A few years after coming third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol, Carly Rae Jepsen's first major release caused viral mayhem, amassing over 100 million Youtube views in just a few months. Call Me Maybe has its place in the music market, as a fun teen pop song about falling quickly and madly in love enough to demand a call from this person you've just met (who at this point is probably more than a little afraid). But there is the suspicion that its popularity is largely due to the fact that once it's been heard, it literally cannot be unheard. Regularly parodied, frequently meme'd and far too often played, Call Me Maybe trounces all the other songs on this list by miles as the epitome of the song that wields so much power over your brain that you are still humming it as you fall asleep at night. Interestingly, this agonisingly chirpy tune about love at first sight was originally a folk song, but was reworked before its release. Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and, err, Enter Shikari - among others - have all covered the song.
