MC5's Kick Out The Jams was recorded on Devil's Night and Halloween 1968 in Detroit. It was not only a live album, but was also as the band's debut album. It's easy to see why the album was recorded live; a studio recording would not have done these songs justice.

Considered by many as an early influence for punk music, along with bands like Iggy and The Stooges, The Sonics and The Kinks, MC5 demonstrate just what a live rock gig should sound like. Pounding drums and fuzz-fuelled guitars make Kick Out The Jams an essential live album, just turn up the volume and feel the energy pour out your speakers.
