20 Essential Albums Every Country Music Fan Should Own

11. Garth Brooks - No Fences

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvCgSqPZ4EM Key Tracks: Friends in Low Places, The Thunder Rolls, Mr. Blue Garth Brooks is a juggernaut. The man could release an album of himself reading the newspaper accompanied by a twangy guitar, and it would probably sell five million copies. He's the biggest-selling artist, country or otherwise, of the modern era, having sold over 150 million records. That's more than Elvis Presley. The Country Music Hall of Famer didn't get there by chance. He got there by producing excellent material, like No Fences, which was certified platinum seventeen times, thank you very much. Brooks' songwriting is good, but it is his rock and pop influences which have helped him achieve such incredible success. It's a seamless blend of yeehaw honky-tonk, power ballads and straight-up seventies style singer-songwriting and one which needs to be in your country music collection ASAP.
