13. LFO - Frequencies

Last year fans of techno were faced with the sad news that Mark Bell, one half of the seminal production duo LFO, died after a long battle with cancer. In the run up to Christmas a Facebook campaign was launched to try and get the classic tune LFO to number one in the Christmas charts. While the campaign failed at least it achieved one thing: bringing a great track from their incredible album Frequencies to a wider audience. LFO's acid-tinged, bass-heavy techno sounds as punchy and energetic today as it did when it was first released back in 1991, not to mention giving Warp Records their first top 20 chart entry.
