20 Greatest Punk Albums Ever Made

16. Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death

'Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death' was actually released after the Dead Kennedys had disbanded, but that doesn't stop it from being an incredible compilation album.

The controversial American punk rock group made a name for themselves through close to the knuckle song narratives about highly divisive subjects. 'Give Me Convenience' was released by Dead Kennedys' lead singer, Jello Biafra, through his own independent record label in 1987. It includes a handful of previously unreleased singles and cover songs, as well as live performances from previously released Dead Kennedys classic such as 'California Uber Alles' and 'Holiday in Cambodia'.

Dead Kennedys had a huge influence over the development of hardcore punk through both this album and their groundbreaking debut, 'Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables', which will get back to a little later. Other noteworthy Dead Kennedys albums include 'Plastic Surgery Disasters' (and it highly controversial album artwork), 'In God We Trust, Inc.' and 'Frankenchrist'.
