10. Big Pun - Capital Punishment

In a city filled with some of the finest rappers to even touch a microphone, it's difficult to separate yourself from everyone else. However, that's exactly what Big Pun did with his first album Capital Punishment. To put into perspective how respected Pun already was a lyricist, he had the likes of Busta Rhymes, Prodigy from Mobb Deep, Inspectah Deck from the Wu-Tang Clan and Dead Prez on the album.

Despite having such incredible names on thee album, Pun never gets outshone on any of the track. He's able to stand on his own alongside of the best and even have better verses than seasoned veterans. It's just a shame that he was taken away before his prime as you can only imagine how good his music would've been today.
