This song jumps about in a multitude of ways. From an inspirational sound, to a shredding guitar solo, to happy bright synths.
Emo was acceptable in the 2000s in the UK - in the charts at least. Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and My Chemical Romance all had songs and albums hitting the top 40, but this sleeper hit snuck under the radar and it is a tragedy as there is a lot of positive things to say about it.
Though the lyrics could be construed as generic, the vocals (particularly those of Ed Minton) are beautiful - and it's a shame it only hit #17.
