20 Most Underrated Hard Rock Songs Of All Time
5. Party Poison - My Chemical Romance
By the mid 2000's, My Chemical Romance had everything that a young rock band dreams of. After making a stellar release with Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, the band released a modern classic with The Black Parade, whose timeless songs can still throw down with the best of them today. It would take a miracle to top that, but the band gave it a fair shot on Danger Days.
Though the album is a touch lopsided with electronic music and ballads, songs like "Party Poison" showed where all the high energy of the band's previous records went. Coming in the middle of the album's story, the song has a hard rock foundation that is juxtaposed by a glam rock presentation. As opposed to the Queen like grandeur the band made on their previous effort, guitarist Frank Iero channels his inner Mick Ronson as Gerard Way screams his brains out about escaping the hands of law enforcement.
The Black Parade may have been about an inner struggle of mortality, but this song offered a different spin by placing you in the middle of a dystopian war zone. Any wrong move could signal the end of the world, but with something like this as the soundtrack, fans wouldn't want it any other way.
