20 Most Underrated Hard Rock Songs Of All Time
1. Sick Sick Sick - Queens Of The Stone Age
Ever since the early 2000's, Queens of the Stone Age have dominated the rock landscape with their stoner rock anthems. Off the strength of albums like Rated R and Songs for the Deaf, Josh Homme has led these rock giants through thick and thin. While some look at the band's 2007 release Era Vulgaris as their most uninspired, the album has a lot more high points than you probably remember.
In the development stages, Homme originally wanted to collaborate with Trent Reznor on the record, which already sounds like a match made in hard rock heaven.
Even though the schedules didn't pan out, "Sick Sick Sick" is the closest thing that hard rock fans could hope to get from the industrial side of the group. Centered around just one chord, the song packs the same punch as any other QOTSA song along with a chilling ambiance that feels like its ripped straight out of a horror movie.
With backing vocals provided by Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, Homme sells sex, murder, and vapid behavior as if they are all the same thing. Change was in the air for Queens, and with "Sick Sick Sick" under his belt, Homme created one of the most disturbing tunes of his entire career.
