So let's say you have a set up that involves 8 effects pedals and an amplifier, and you have a crackling, cutting-out sound. Usually that means a dodgy connection, which would mean that you have up to 8 wires to check, but what if none of those wires are causing the issue? What if it's the pedal, the guitar or even the amp? You have to test every single bit of kit one by one to isolate the issue. Now imagine if that happens at sound check? It's enough to drive anyone to arson.
17. Dropping Your Last Plectrum
It's happened to us all, you're jamming away and you're really into the song you're playing, it's getting intricate, it's getting intense, you're sweating but it sounds so, SO good. But that sweat has to go somewhere and naturally, it's going to get to your hands and then before you know it, your newly slick fingers fail you and that plectrum goes flying with you having no idea where it's gone. It's your last one and you're not able to get to a guitar shop for ages to get some more. So you lay your guitar down, turn off your amp and quietly weep to yourself.
16. Breaking A String
It's fairly obvious, but like number 17 in this list, breaking a string can cause a sudden and heartbreaking end to an epic jam. Just when things were going so well, you over-bent a note or pulled on the whammy bar just too much. The tensile strength of a thin length of steel was exceeded and BANG, jam over, potentially hand cut, and heart broken.
