20 Punk Rock Albums Turning 20 In 2020
7. Midtown - Save The World, Lose The Girl
You know this band from their popular one hit wonder "Give It Up" released in 2004, but four years prior to that the group were just putting out their debut album.
Save the World, Lose the Girl boasts 12 solid tracks and an inclusion at number 44 on Rock Sound's "The 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time" list round out the legacy of the New Jersey native's debut record. The album definitely served as a launching pad for Midtown who were put on the Vans Warped Tour the following year.
Like many great's before them, Midtwon was finding new and innovative ways to let the world know that they were members of the pissed off youth and would not be silenced. They did this in almost every one of the album's 12 tracks, 13 if you count the hidden one, while managing to not sound stale or repetitive.
For fan's of Midtown's earliest offerings this album holds up as both a nostalgic tribute to the teen days and a foreboding of the future of this talented group.
