20 Songs Which Surprisingly Never Made It To No.1 In The UK Charts
19. Rule The World - Take That
Actual Chart Peak: No.2
After a ten-year split, the British boy band Take That reunited in 2006 and gained a chart-topping single with their comeback song Patience. It was the first of many more favoured songs to come from the group.
One of their most well-known hits of the noughties was Rule the World, which went on to be their second bestselling single of all time. It was recorded for the British fantasy film Stardust, performed at the 2012 Olympic ceremony and was considered for an Oscar nomination in the award for Best Original Song.
Despite Take That’s seemingly unstoppable success, the band just missed out on being number one because they were pipped to the post by Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love.
