20 Universally-Hated Songs That Are Actually Technically Very Good

4. Seether - Broken Feat. Amy Lee

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPC2Fp7IT7o When two vaguely alt-rock/metal/pop acts come together you have to know it's going to end up in a soppy ballad, it's almost guaranteed. So imagine everyone's lack of surprise when Seether and Amy Lee from Evanescence brought out Broken, a song which automatically spoke to every single non-conformist alt girl around the world in a singular way. Aside from the predictable lyrics, just listen to that guitar intro, it is simply beautiful. Musically, Broken is about as good as anything Seether have ever done and while it's not a heavy-ish rocker like the band are used to, it does show the rich vein of musical talent that runs through them. If only they hadn't ruined it by getting Amy Lee involved.
