20 Unsigned Metal Bands Everyone Needs To Hear

14. Deathwhite

An enigmatic power trio from the USA, Deathwhite is a mysterious act that hides behind anonymity and a lack of any social media presence. That sounds nuts, but when you think about it, why is it nuts? It just shows how important sites like Facebook are to today's music industry.

In a world where it seems like no-one will even know your band's name if it isn't plastered all over Twitter with a ton of hashtags, Deathwhite proudly feels more timeless, evoking the good old days of when metalheads had to actually dig a little deeper and take some real chances to find great underground bands.

And Deathwhite is more than worth digging after. A melodic doom metal band modelled after mid-90s-era Paradise Lost, they already have two EP's under their belt (the best being 2015's Solitary Martyr. Listen to it. Now) with a debut album on the way in 2017. Set to continue the band's melancholic and nihilistic outlook, the album (cheerily titled For a Black Tomorrow) will doubtlessly be more than worth any rocker's time.

I write for Metal Hammer, Prog and WhatCulture. I don’t have Facebook or Twitter, so you’ll just have to call me a stupid cuck to my face.
