21 Best Punk Albums Of The 21st Century
12. Marmozets - The Weird And Wonderful
The underlying trend of UK artists throughout this article continues, as we edge ever near the top ten. The Marmozets will be a well-known name for most fans of modern British punk. But for those who are unfamiliar, this five-piece math rock-infused punk outlet formed in Bingley, West Yorkshire, in 2007.
Formed from two sets of siblings, Marmozets have been performing and recording together since they were schoolmates. With 15 years of experience in the industry despite their youth, things started to pick up for Marmozets around 2012 following the release of their debut single, 'Good Days'. This release preceded 'Born Young and Free' in 2013, which earned them a record deal with Roadrunner.
In 2014, Marmozets released their debut album, 'The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets', through Roadrunner and became huge names in a matter of months. In the years that followed, Marmozets would earn a great reputation and even earn a main stage spot opening for Volbeat at Download Festival in 2018. Marmozets have been on a break since 2019 after bandmates Becca and Jack welcomed their first child, but confirmed earlier this year that new music is on the way.
