21 Best Punk Albums Of The 21st Century
13. Queen Zee - Queen Zee
Where some other bands on this list have gone on to enjoy dazzling, flourishing careers, Queen Zee represent the flipside of this and remind us just how cruel the music industry can be. The queercore punk group burst onto the scene in 2017, but by the end of 2020 they had disapperead without a trace.
In spite of their short shelf life, Queen Zee still managed to gain a huge following for an unsigned, DIY punk group. They accompanied a number of big modern punk names such as Marmozets on tour, and embarked on a UK headline tour of their own in 2018. This was followed by the release of their maiden record, a self-titled stunner which hit the shelves in 2019.
Singles such as 'Loner' and 'Hunger Pains' led from the front, while other additions such as 'Victim Age', 'I Hate Your New Boyfriend' and 'Lucy Fur' all contributed plenty of energy of the album too. However, it may have been too much too soon for Queen Zee, as just a few months after their record came out, the band was no more and they haven't been heard from since.
