21 Biggest Metal Riffs Of All Time

4. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MLp7YNTznE Bursting out the gates like the drug-addled loveable-alcoholic he was born to be, Ozzy suitably recruited short-lived guitar-prodigy Randy Rhoads and set about carving his name back into music's hierarchy all over again. What would be his quill of choice for such an act? The timeless delivery and 'more metal than your mum's kettle' riffery of Crazy Train - a song that to this day is one of a handful that any newcomer to the instrument MUST at least have a few stabs at, as even if metal or rock is not your musical tipple, Train's riff is so well put together it's just incredibly fun to play. Of course these days with Ozzy back in Sabbath mode and Firewind guitarist Gus G taking up the reigns for when he does occasional solo tours it's become something of a rare delicacy for the 'gotta see 'em all' metal fan. Even then with Gus' playing being a masterclass of scales and proficiency on the neck, many hark for the days of Zakk Wylde's godlike ability on the strings, as although he has a penchant for inserting a bucketload of pinched harmonics into every composition, he still injected that signature unabashed metallic fury that just can't be matched in a Randy Rhoads-less world.
