21 Most Replayable Rock Albums Of All Time

13. Pearl Jam - Ten

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGiTPgvKktM Nirvana have Nevermind, Alice in Chains have Dirt, Soundgarden have a tie between Badmotorfinger and Superunknown, all the while it's hard to forget that alongside the first entry on that list, way back in 1991, Pearl Jam's Ten would drop and create waves so huge not even the band themselves could replicate. From the subdued lyricisms of schoolboy-adversity-beater Jeremy all the way up to the raucous festival stage-destroying gut-punchers Once or Porches, the band also casually created one of the finest extended solos of all time in the phenomenal Alive; a track that is still part of any pentatonic-loving guitarists' lick-catalogue. In true grunge fashion though it wouldn't be complete without some more subdued numbers, and that's where the simply gorgeous Oceans and Black come in, the latter especially being one of the finest on the album, building from a minimalist soundscape awash with little flurries and relaxed drumwork all the way up into an emotional climax that some still say is still the band's finest work. It's impossible to get sick of: Alive. The exquisite way that opening riff hangs on the final note for just that extra second like some sort of ethereal call to arms remains perfect crowd-fodder, letting the song satiate masses of every disposition be they lovers of the band or newcomers to the genre.
