25 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums Of All Time

6. Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill

Upon leaving Fugees, singer and rapper Lauryn Hill wasted no time releasing her first (and so far only) solo project. Bringing together rap, soul and reggae, Hill crafted an album unlike any other - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The record shows off Hill's range like never before, allowing her to sing, rap and talk through her thoughts on love, faith and being a mother.

Miseducation can best be described as powerful. It soars with Hill's emotions, which allow her to tap into the true potential of her melodic, moving and charismatic voice.

No one since the album's inception has been able to capture the mix of soul and rap that Hill achieves on her only record. It's personal, questioning everything, but also beautifully written, harmonic and lyrically compelling. Rap, soul, jazz? Hill can do it all without fault.
