25 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums Of The Last Decade

21. Chance The Rapper - Acid Rap

Chance the Rapper might have a rabid fanbase these days, but it wasn't always like that for the Chicago MC. While his first mixtape, 10 Day, certainly helped build some hype around him, his second release, Acid Rap, is the turning point for when his career really took off.

We've come to know Chance as a rapper who really shines bright and collaborates well with other artists. Acid Rap really gave fans the opportunity to see him work with big names like Childish Gambino, Action Bronson and Twista. While many other young artists would've been put in the corner by names like this, Chance does a great job of balancing their qualities with his own.

On a song like "Cocoa Butter Kisses" - where the rapid fire bars and insane punchlines from Twista are in abundance - Chance could have been easily overlooked, yet he more than stands out on this and every other song on the album, regardless of who features.
