30 Grime Albums You Must Hear Before You Die

22. Organised Grime - OG Season Vol. 1

As far as gang/crew releases go, Organised Grime's OG Season Vol. 1 is up there with the best. Admittedly, it hasn't quite got the same power as the best of Roll Deep, or the same innovative production as Ruff Sqwad's strongest work, but any album that features both P. Money and Dot Rotten on their best form is absolutely worth getting excited about. Yes, there are many other excellent MCs on this record. But really, OG Season is a great release primarily because of the fact that Dot Rotten's aggressive vocals and genuinely pissed-off lyrics perfectly complement P. Money's virtuosic style. These two just sound right on tracks together. The production is very strong, but it wisely takes a back seat on this release, granting the gifted vocalists a platform to try and outdo each other. Have a listen - you decide which of the two exceptionally gifted MCs owns this release.
