4. Lulu James
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvc4YNP3bkQ Although Lulu James has received a warm reception from releasing several EPs on iTunes already, many people have skipped over listening to the South Shields born singer this year and its time they tuned in. Lulu is an absolute beauty with her chocolate-coloured skin, perfectly carved cheekbones and petite frame to which she adorns the craziest, zaniest stage costumes. An example of Lulus unique fashion sense can be seen during her performance of Sweetest Thing on Later with Jools Holland, where she wowed the audience with her burst of measured sultry soul. The North East of England isnt normally a region associated with slow-burning R n B, so its almost as if she was created from the crashing North Sea shore, born from the waves like Aphrodite. She takes inspiration from artists such as James Blake and Gil Scott-Heron and her new EP, Sweetest Thing, is available to buy on iTunes from November 3.
