5 Great Brazilian Metal Bands You Need To Hear
3. Human Kraken
Moving away from thrash and alt-metal, we now focus on Brazilian metalcore thanks to Human Kraken. Forming in 2014, Human Kraken show clear similarities to bands such as Wage War and Counting Days through their brutal, relentless metalcore approach.
As one of the few metal bands in Brazil who predominantly sing in English, it is possible for us to fully appreciate their lyrical prowess as well as the haunting atmospheric undercurrents which spread to almost every tune. Human Kraken independently released their self-titled debut album in 2015, before releasing their second (and latest) album, ‘Meraki’, in 2018.
The range of metalcore approaches and conventions exhibited by Human Kraken is truly sensational, with keys songs from their discography including ‘Existȇncia’, ‘Amaterasu’ and ‘Pandora’.
