5 Great Brazilian Metal Bands You Need To Hear

2. Emmercia

Forming in 2011, Emmercia are one of the most experienced bands in the underground Brazilian metal scene. For fans of ‘Sempiternal’ era Bring Me The Horizon and Of Mice & Men, Emmercia’s modernised metal style represents the bands industry experience excellently thanks to the polished production and punchy pace of every tune.

Emmercia emerged in 2014 after unleashing their debut (and to date only) studio album, ‘O.Ú.S.S.A’, to critical acclaim amongst Sao Paulo’s underground scene. Since this record, Emmercia have been drip feeding singles to their fans over the years, but haven’t committed to the recording of another album or even an EP since their debut record. Their latest single, ‘Pescador de Tormentas, Pt. 2’, was released on streaming services in December and has already accumulated thousands of listens.

Top song recommendations for anyone wanting to check Emmercia out include ‘Cegueira Branca’, ‘Sonora’ and ‘Um em Poucos Todos Nós'.
