5. Iceage - You're Nothing
Maybe it's the fact that the source material is insanely muddled noise punk. Maybe it's the fact that you cannot and will not understand the vocalist. Maybe it's the fact you simply don't enjoy atonal, abrasive melodies. But Iceage, a noise post-punk band from Denmark have released one of the most inventive punk albums of the past few years, if not the decade. Forcing the ferocious riffs to stretch just a bit longer than their first album, New Brigade, this album clocks out at a minuscule twenty-six minutes. Tracks like "Ecstasy," "Coalition," and "Morals" are standout pieces of 2013 essential listening. And although this album did get some media coverage, this album is avoided by many people, even though we all have punk/rebellious streaks in us. Get your face beaten in and scream your head off to this album. It'll be the most primal experience of your life.
