2. Kanye West
No doubt, Kanye is a hugely talented rapper and lyricist but outside of his music he has continually proven to be a complete nut. The jury is still out on exactly how much of his lunacy is crafted for attention and how much is genuine. Either way he's another musician who just needs to shut his mouth and get on with the music. Kanye has two main problems. One is his distinct lack of a sense of humour, seemingly not understanding that someone in the public eye might sometimes be the target of jokes. He seems to think that he is so talented that he should be exempt from being made fun off. Problem is that this attitude alone is enough reason to be mocked. Just this week he tried to stop the release of an online currency called "COINYE" which started as a joke but has now become a real thing partly due to his objection. He seems oblivious to the fact that when he gets publically annoyed about these things, they become even funnier. If he exercised a bit of restraint and just tried to "own" the jokes, people would be less inclined to keep them going. Recently, Kanye also reacted badly to a joke on the Jimmy Kimmel show where children re-enacted an interview he did with the BBC. As a result, Kanye childishly took to Twitter to blast Kimmel for the sketch in which he portrayed him as childish. His other main problem seems to be his impulsiveness. He has a long history of reacting first and worrying about the consequences later. During a Katrina Benefit a few years ago he famously went off script and stated "George Bush doesn't care about black people." This caused outrage of the time, though a few years later he publically expressed regret on US TV. Awards shows seemingly bring his impulsiveness to the forefront more than anything else and Kanye's history at the events are the stuff of much mocking. In short, he doesn't like to lose. He once stormed out of one ceremony after losing best new artist to Gretchen Wilson. Another time he interrupted Justice who had just beaten him to an award. Again, he later apologized when he realised he was being an idiot. But it didn't stop him as we all know he did it to Taylor Swift not too long after which led to even the president calling him a "jackass." Kanye is particularly quick to jump to conclusions and continually blames his own failings on racism. In 2007 he used this as an excuse for not winning any of his 5 VMA nominations. He refused to never come back to MTV, a promise he relented on not long after. He is lucky his music is so good, otherwise he'd be a complete laughing stock. Despite his transgressions, his album releases are always long anticipated and 2013's Yeezus proved no exception. Along with the promotion however came even more erratic behavior and a year filled with numerous outbursts and public arguments. As yet it has not affected his career but eventually he needs to learn when not to run his mouth. Eventually it could come back to haunt him as he slowly moves towards Morrissey levels of insanity with each new incident.
