Lily Allen swanned into the pop landscape of the mid-2000s with a debut album of sharp insults and unapologetic brattiness. The daughter of the man behind the most optimistic (and best) England football anthem ever, it perhaps only makes sense that Allen subverted her family's musical history by going the cynical route. It's hardly the most polished or subtle album ever released, but Lily's lackadaisical vocals and sunny garage melodies clash nicely with tales of romantic woe and a decaying London.
