50 Red Hot Chili Peppers Songs Never Released As Singles That Every Fan Must Hear

25. Emit Remmus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpY69bMu2Gs Album: Californication (1999) Emit Remmus draws upon the differences between the summer weather of London and California, with the "English girl, American man" mentioned in the lyrics being Kiedis and Melanie Chisholm, member of the Spice Girls who were still active at this time. Both Frusciante's guitar riff and the song's title are backwards - with the riff being played in the song in reverse to how it was played in the studio, and the title being the words "summer time" in reverse.

24. Slow Cheetah

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7g11ViJnU0 Album: Stadium Arcadium (2006) Slow Cheetah remains one of the only Chilis songs to mainly feature an acoustic guitar for most of the song until Frusciante's electric solo at the end of the main part of the song, before once again using an electric guitar played in reverse to gain the chilling effects heard in the final minute, similar to those found in the solos of Give It Away. The song is reported to tell the story of drug relapses, warning of how, even after years of sobriety, the slow cheetah of drug addiction can attack at any moment.

23. Magpies On Fire

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odw2fQOQBFc Album: I'm With You Sessions (2012-3) Magpies On Fire is archetypal of the Chilis' more recent mellow-rock sound, but scaled back to not include the extra instrumentation present in many songs on I'm With You and its Sessions, replacing extra instruments with extra vocals. The I'm With You Sessions were released in groups of two songs (apart from the 9-minute In Love Dying) as digital downloads and 7" vinyl records between August 2012 and July 2013, instead of being featured as B-sides, as happened with the session songs for Stadium Arcadium. This meant that all single releases from I'm With You were released either as one-track singles or featuring remixes or live versions instead of new B-sides.

22. Meet Me At The Corner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1uedDsJWe4 Album: I'm With You (2011) Meet Me At The Corner is notably the most simplistic song on I'm With You, but this comes from scaling back the instrumentation (as with Magpies On Fire but to a greater extent) and tempo rather than becoming a simple track. The song shows of Klinghoffer's guitar fingering to the fullest with his fills throughout. This stays true until around three-minutes in, when the song picks up for the final minute or so, returning to the sound common on By The Way until the false ending leading to a Layla-esque final section.

21. Readymade

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiTUi0iG8ZA Album: Stadium Arcadium (2006) Readymade, although having a reasonably steady tempo, definitely satisfies the head-banging Give It Away and Suck My Kiss lovers while delivering more of the range given to the other songs of Stadium Arcadium, in a similar way to the album's other heavy offerings, Torture Me and Storm In A Teacup. It is one of the few Red Hot Chili Peppers songs to feature a drum solo, although it does not come with a lot of over-production from Chad Smith as he securely accompanies Kiedis' simultaneous vocal solo.
