6 Reasons Why Lily Allen Should Be Considered A British Icon
4. She Stands Up To Bullies Like Katie Hopkins
At times to be a British Icon you have to stand up for what you believe in. To fight the good fight and stand up against the wrongdoers of the world. In our case Lily Allen, using Twitter as her mighty British Broadsword, has stood against the worst the media industry has to offer. One such example and one which definitely comes into the category of 'worst' is Lily standing up to the downright hateful comments of Katie Hopkins who seems to be rapidly building a career out of being as nasty and inaccurate about people as possible while also assuming quite wrongly that people agree with her. She attacked Lily for putting on weight when she was pregnant, which I guess is kind of like attacking someone for breathing. I imagine it is something to do with the new life-form you are growing inside you but then again, I 'm not a doctor. Lily struck back with a beautiful triple whammy of a) posting a slim looking picture of herself b) correctly pointing out that Ms Hopkins had no viable career beyond attacking young people c) suggesting politely that sewing her mouth shut would be an excellent example of necessary cosmetic surgery. Other dragons slain by Ms Cooper include Piers Morgan, Katie Price and Julie Burchill, which is a rogues gallery that would give Superman nightmares.
