6 Reasons Why Lily Allen Should Be Considered A British Icon

1. She Loves Cricket And Has Appeared On Test Match Cricket

Certain actions are almost guaranteed to propel you to British icon status. Complete that action twice, and then it's a done deal. Lily Allen has appeared on Test Match Special twice. Not as theme music, not as background music and not as a passing reference. She has been interviewed twice during the prime lunchtime slot 'View From The Boundary'. Now, popstars do have a reputation for attending any sort of interview that gets them publicity. Hell, they will attend any sort of anything to get publicity. But our Lily knows her cricket. More than even that fact she prefers Test Match Cricket. Many of the listeners may not of known her music but after that statement she suddenly became a template for their favour granddaughter, daughter or wife. In fact the jealousy aimed at Sam Cooper for snagging this lady suddenly would have multiplied across the UK. I am surprised he did not consider upping the security. To be a British Icon and future National Treasure you have to like and understand cricket. Further more you have to like Test Match cricket the most. That is the rule. It may not 'actually' be written down anywhere, but it's the rule none the less. I bet Adele prefers T20. And Lily, if you manage to write a successful pop song about cricket then we are making you Queen.
