8 Amazing Rock Bands From The 2000s You Forgot Even Existed
2. Sum 41
Truly there were few better ways to feel edgy and rebellious in the mid-2000s than by listening to the musical stylings of rockers Sum 41. The band's debut record flaunted such great tracks as Fat Lip, In Too Deep and Motivation, songs that thrived on singer Deryck Whibley's aggressive yet appealing vocals. All Killer, No Filler was followed by Does This Look Infected? which further crystallized the band's reputation as purveyors of hard rock anthems with tunes like The Hell Song, Over My Head (Better Off Dead) and Still Waiting. Despite having released two more albums, the band began to struggle internally towards the end of the 2000s, something that more than likely contributed to their waning relevancy and disappearance from the mainstream. For a start, Whibley's married to Avril Lavigne broke down, and the two split up in 2009. Following that, Whibley began to struggle with alcoholism, and was ultimately hospitalized for over a month. As of the end of 2015, the band teased a comeback album, so it remains to be seen whether or not they'll yet return to public consciousness.
