8 Awful Bands You Won't Believe Are Still Going

3. Creed/Scott Stapp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5RmwtagE08 If anyone ever needed an antonym for self-awareness, all they had to do was gaze upon a picture of Scott Stapp, the singer and lyricist for Creed. Despite the inexplicable success of With Arms Wide Open, the world's reaction towards Creed has been anything but. Contributing to this sentiment was Stapp's co-starring role with Kid Rock in the Sextape Nobody Ever Wanted To See. When Creed disbanded in 2004 it was a bland affair as most of the world had assumed they had broken up years before. Not one to rest on his laurels, Stapp got right to work on his solo album, The Great Divide, whose title was not in fact a reference to Creed's breakup, but perhaps an allusion to the contrast of public opinion and Stapp's own self-perception. In 2010, Stapp was quoted as saying, "I'm stripping down all the Creed hits, as well as my solo material, in a manner fans have never heard before but have long been screaming for." Credit goes out to him for being able to hear the screams of three people across the world. A Creed reunion in 2009 now behind him, Stapp released his second album Proof Of Life, another addition to the series of ironic album titles. Blissfully unaware, as always, Stapp doesn't appear to be slowing down in the near future.

Just like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse, Mickey Galie is the best friend a good time ever had.
