5. Roses In The Hospital
Reaching number 15 in the UK singles chart, Roses in the Hospital was the bands most successful single to come from their first three records. Musically it is one of the most radio friendly tracks the band released in this period but lyrically it retains a familiar darkness. Because of this many people assume the lyrics are by Richey Edwards but in fact, Nicky Wire has since revealed that most of the lyrics to both this track and La Tristesse Durera were written by him. The refrain of Forever Delayed was used in 2002 as the title for a greatest hits collection even though the track itself did not appear on the record.
