4. La Tristesse Durera (Scream To A Sigh)
This track from 1993 takes its name from the last words of Vincent Van Gogh. They translate as this sadness will last. It is important to note that the rest of the lyrics have no relation to Van Gogh. The song is about war veterans and how the public remembrance of war does not focus on the real point. The symbol of the poppy masks the fact that the platitudes are often insincere and society is forgetting the very people it claims to be celebrating. This song is much loved by the bands fan base and for very good reason. Personally, I believe this track is their masterpiece.
