In 2013, American singer Beyonce took the world by storm when she released her self-titled fifth album completely unannounced. On the 13th December 2013, the album appeared on iTunes with no prior promotion. It's a fairly bold move, though less so for an artist like Beyonce who is phenomenally popular. Nevertheless, it can't have been something that her label and promoters were totally sure about. It's been two years, then, since Beyonce's last album, and many are wondering when the singer will return with new material. If rumours are to be believed, Beyonce is planning a release strategy very similar to her previous (which ended up working remarkably well, generating staggering amounts of hype and discussion). For a start, Beyonce has been teasing fans with in-studio pictures for a while now, and has been spotted leaving a recording studio in New York City. Solidifying rumours even further, many reports suggest that Beyonce shot a music video for a new single in New Orleans at the end of 2015. One of Beyonce's dancers, for example, posted a photo of herself and two more of Beyonce's dancers, suggesting they were working on something together. So, she's been teasing the recording process and just shot a new music video, all without confirmation of an album even existing. Seems pretty likely she's up to the same trick as last time.
