Jim Sullivan was a singer-songwriter who became a mainstay in the Los Angles clubs scene back in the 1960s. His music was a blend of several different styles, including rock, folk, and country.

Sullivan rubbed elbows with a lot of Hollywood stars and even appeared as an extra in the film Easy Rider. In 1969, the former high school quarterback released his first record, entitled U.F.O. He would later put out another album called Playboy in 1972, but enjoyed little in the way of commercial success at the time.

In March 1975, his VW bug was found abandoned at a remote ranch around 26 miles from the hotel he was staying at in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

There are several stories surrounding his disappearance, though there is nothing concrete to support any of them. He was rumored to have run afoul with a family that had Mafia ties. Like Licorice McKechnie, some say he got lost in the desert. Of course, given that he released a record called U.F.O. and then mysteriously disappeared, there is also an alien abduction theory.

Sullivan wasn't a particularly successful musician in his day, but his work, particularly the U.F.O. album, has gone on to develop a cult following. His debut record was even re-released in 2011 and 2019, respectively.

As for the man himself, his whereabouts are still unknown.
