4. Axl Rose
I don't want to be controversial here, but I think I may not be the first person to say that Axl Rose has lost his way somewhat. There was a time where Axl and the original Guns N' Roses were a seriously big deal. Unfortunately, that time ended twenty years ago, and almost every single member of the band from that time has long since quit. That, however, did not appear to dissuade Axl from continuing to use the GNR name, and famously kept fans waiting for fourteen years to produce a new (original) album from 1994's Use Your Illusion II. Well, we all know how that went. The world waited with baited breath to get a taste of what Axl declared to be his masterpiece when Chinese Democracy finally landed in 2008. The album was infamously underwhelming. That's not to say it wasn't a decent effort, but it was overplayed by the man who had laboured over it for so long, and it most certainly did not sound anything like a Guns N' Roses album. It can sit happily as an album Axl can be proud of, but the sheer mess that surrounded the release has left us with a deflated opinion of the man. Put this hand in hand with his off-stage antics and we're left with no real reason to want him to churn anything else out. I mean, the man refused to go on stage at his 2006 show in Newcastle for almost two hours until he received a Sunday roast. And that's without even going into any of his infamous bandmate feudings. Oh dear, Axl.
