8 Musicians With Bizarre (And Fascinating) Alter Egos

4. Green Day Get Tired Of Their Usual Sound

Not content with just one side project, Green Day has recorded under at least two alter egos since rising to mainstream popularity. It seems like the members of Green Day like inventing alter egos and then attempting to keep them hidden for as long as possible. This penchant has manifested itself in two projects. The first is The Network, a new wave band featuring the members of Green Day with strange stage names like Fink, The Snoo and Van Gough. To this day, the band denies any involvement with the project, and their last known performance was opening for Green Day in 2005. The second Green Day alter ego is the Foxboro Hot Tubs, again featuring all three members of Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, commented on speculation about this alter ego, saying:
"The only similarity between Foxboro Hot Tubs and Green Day is that we are the same band"
Pretty conclusive, then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao1-jBmH0U4
