8 Albums That Prove 2014 Is The Comeback Year For Punk Rock

6. Only Crime - "Pursuance"

http://youtu.be/JWj9idP9j-0 Only Crime may technically be only a side-project, therefore making them not as popular as the other bands on this list, however that does not mean they should be forgotten for several key reasons. Fronted by Good Riddance vocalist Russ Rankin, Only Crime have basically reappeared just as quickly as they had disappeared, with the sudden announcement of a new album seemingly coming out of nowhere. Only Crime have left Fat Wreck Chords, and have been given a new home with Rise Records - which a few years ago may have been a big surprise due to their metalcore roster, but who have been releasing albums from respectable punk bands lately (i.e. The Bouncing Souls, Hot Water Music, 7 Seconds, Face To Face) - , and will release their album "Pursuance" on May 13, seven years since their sophomore release. Also featuring undoubtedly one of the hardest working and most respected drummers/producers in the industry, Bill Stevenson (Descendents/All/Black Flag), Only Crime combine 1980s hardcore with 1990s punk, pulling the best from the members respective main bands, with Descendents-sounding hardcore verses, and Good Riddance-esque melodic choruses. Undoubtedly the least known band on this list, this album will still bring back memories of the '90s/'20s if not through their music, then though the missed voice of Rankin.
