8 Albums That Prove 2014 Is The Comeback Year For Punk Rock

7. Strung Out - "Transmission Alpha Delta"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhrh1Y2uxaw Strung Out have been teasing fans about their upcoming eighth studio album for quite some time now, and finally in the second half of 2014, it will be released through Fat Wreck Chords, the only label the Simi Valley punk/metal band has ever had. Titled "Transmission Alpha Delta," the new album will follow a box set release containing remastered versions of the band's first three albums, a little something to hold fans over for the next months. As a fun and unique way to announce the tracklisting and cover art for this long-awaiting album, the band is releasing two paintings a month (painting by none other than lead vocalist Jason Cruz), each one based on and titled after a track off the album. The band wants to put the "experience" back into music. This will lead up to the final cover art at the end. In an age of digital music, and the decline of physical releases, the band wants to being back the love of holding music in your hands. Though no songs or specific release date have been released yet, this album is sure to bring back the boundary-pushing, metal-infused punk rock that Strung Out have always been known for.
