9 Fascinating Studio Accidents That Made It Into Famous Songs

2. Ben Folds Five -€“ Steven's Last Night In Town

This studio accident just goes to show that sometimes the universe has a great sense of rhythm and timing. The song Steven's Last Night In Town is from the 1997 Ben Folds Five album Whatever And Amen. The song was recorded at Fold's rented house in Chapel Hill and the whole way through it's a loud, raucous tune, featuring everything from stringed instruments to brass horns.

Throughout the entire song there's only one pause for silence...so of course it was punctuated by a random telephone call (which Folds later clarified was his friend calling from Minnesota). Folds and fellow musicians thought the timing of the call was so perfect and so effective that they decided to keep it in the song.
