9 Fascinating Studio Accidents That Made It Into Famous Songs

1. Green Day -€“ Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

This is probably one of the most famous examples in relatively modern music, so it proudly deserves the top spot on this list. Released as a single from the band's 1997 album Nimrod, Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) has sold millions of copies over the yeas and is easily one of the band's most popular, accessible (yes, even counting American Idiot) songs.

Much to the band's surprise, the song has become a massive hit at American prom dances, as the lyrics can be interpreted as a reflective look back at the school experience. In fact, Rolling Stone named the song as one of the 20 Best Graduation Songs of the Past 20 Years in 2015. As for the mistake? Well, it probably needs no introduction, but just in case€ At the beginning of the song, Billie Joe Armstrong can be heard attempting to finger pick the opening. Messing up, he utters €œf**k!€ before beginning again.

The moment has gone on to become an incredibly iconic song opening, and is just as integral a part of the listening experience as the rest of the actual song.
