9 Lesser Known Bands That Are Looking To Blow Up In 2020

8. Jacky Bastek

Jacky Bastek enjoyed a relative amount of internet fame after coming runner up in the Lowden Young Guitarist Of The Year award and subsequently, her video for ‘No Exit’ went a little bit viral. The primary driving force behind this was the fact that anyone who saw the video was compelled by the fabric of the universe and all that is good in this world to share it with their friends and family.

Bastek is possibly one of the most technically talented and gorgeously gifted musicians you’re likely to come across. Her fingers deftly glide over the guitar strings with a speed and precision that on first viewing leaves a large majority of jaws on the floor. She throws percussive elements into the mix on top of her ethereal guitar playing to further round out the sound and to encourage accusations of witchcraft; she is a six-stringed sorceress.

As well as being a seriously impressive guitar player, Bastek is also an accomplished musician and songwriter. Whilst her guitar playing is truly beautiful in its skill and sound, her lyricism, storytelling, and emotional honesty are heart charming in a completely different ilk. After spending the years since ‘No Exit’ working on new material and fine-tuning her sound, collaborating with other musicians, and debuting showcasing songs on her seemingly endless tour schedule, it’s high time that Jacky found her way into more earholes.
