2. Hellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms)
We really let a lot of questionable bands seep into the charts thanks to MySpace. While it meant any bedroom musician could score a record deal or a hit, sometimes you just can’t polish a turd. Californian band Hellogoodbye's name was all too literal when it came to their fleeting fame with Here (In Your Arms).
The vocals are amateur, the synth-line sounds like it’s from a mobile phone commercial, and yet, somehow, this hit the Top 20 in over 10 countries.
Their 2010 follow-up album failed to reach any success out of the US, meaning it was farewell to Hellogoodbye. Well, not entirely, as they've just released a new album, not that you'd have known.
