9 Songs That Endorse Cheating On Your Partner

7. Naughty By Nature - "O.P.P."

You looked at him, he looked at you and you knew right awayThat he had someone but he was gonna be yours anywayYou couldn't be seen with him and honestly you didn't care'Cause in a room behind a door no one but y'all are there
The very first image of the "O.P.P." music video is of a man removing his wedding band and dropping it on the ground. And it doesn't get any more subtle after that. First, just so we're all on the same page, "O.P.P." stands for Other People's Property. But, according to Naughty By Nature, the last letter really means two different things, depending on your gender. (Hint, the two different words rhyme with shmenis and shmussy.) So basically, if you're "down with O.P.P.," you're cool with getting busy with someone who's already in a committed relationship. And judging from its longstanding position on the charts and the insane amount of airplay it received on MTV, there's a surprisingly large group of people who are down with that. Either that or no one really knew what the hell the song was actually about while they were bobbing their heads to it. Which, honestly, seems like the more realistic possibility. Because I know some of you still aren't convinced that this song is about cheating, I'll let Naughty By Nature's main MC, Treach, explain it himself:
"It's a call-and-response song and we're talking about f*ckin' other n*ggas' b*tches."
Yeah. Not a lot of room for interpretation in that.
